Editorial Reviews
Review
"...energetic tonal command of all the instrument's registers (1685 Marquis d'Auria Stradivari - not her current 1708 Stradivari). Recommended." -- Fan Fare Magazine, Robert Maxham - November/December 2001 "The disc shows her as a witty, elegantly perceptive performer in both the Romantic and 20th-century traditions." -- The Strad, Laurinel Owen - November 2001 Virtuoso: Violinist Janice Martin, who played with great elegance and sensitivity in the final concert of the November Chopin Festival shows the same qualities plus virtuoso techinque in her first recording. The program, on the Sonoris label, includes John Corigliano's Sonato for Violin and Piano, Clara Schuman's Romance in D-flat, Ysaye's Sonata No. 3 and Saint-Saens's Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. It is imaginatively chosen, technically awesome and beautifully played with pianist Rachel Franklin. -- Joseph McLellan, The Washington Post - Sunday December 5, 1999
